The establishment of Homag India in August 2002 is the culmination of the Group’s commitment and vision for India. As a globally operating corporation, the development of an international network of servicing and sales installations constitutes one of Homag's major strategic objectives.. In every market, customer proximity and the necessary level of specialist competence are an underlying requirement to ensure strategically successful operation.
As a system partner, Homag India’s primary objective is to bring Homag technology to the furniture and woodworking sector. Consisting of a modern knowledge centre with machines on working display, a training setup, sales and service facilities, Homag India is fully equipped to take care of all needs of the Indian industry for production of furniture, interior elements, flooring and more. With a well trained and highly motivated service team of 40 engineers, Homag India today is all geared up to maintain and service the complete range of machines from the Homag group in India.
The Homag Group
The company Homag AG was founded in the year 1960 at Schopfloch, South Germany. The beginnings of this company were in the village smithy run by Eugen Hornberger and the consulting firm of Gerhard Schuler. The first edge banding machine was produced two years later, marking the start of rapid growth for the company. Homag’s progress over the following years was marked out by innovative technology and aggressive marketing strategy. The first overseas subsidiary was soon followed by acquisitions that extended the company’s performance range and consequently strengthened its market position.
Whether the furniture or its suppliers, whether the cabinet shop or the interior fitter – the Homag Group has an answer to the widest conceivable requirements. The core field of competence represented by the parent company lies in sizing and edge banding, soft forming and post forming, as well as stationary CNC machines and complete production lines.
The Homag Group today has 12 manufacturing companies in Germany, in Spain, in Brazil and in China.
The machines and systems are designed to address the entire process chain of woodworking and furniture, wooden structural elements and pre-fab wooden house construction sector.
Two service providers, an internationally renowned consulting firm and an engineering company are there for implementing turnkey industrial plants. The Group has 20 of its own sales and servicing companies across Europe, North America, Asia and Australia. Apart from this, the Homag Group has a team of competent sales and servicing partners, in more than 40 countries world wide.
